Khamzat Chimaev plans to fight a top 10 ranked welterweight fighter in December

UFC’s hottest prospect Khamzat Chimaev has laid out his future plans and is eyeing a fight inside the octagon in December 2021 against any top 10 ranked welterweight fighter. Khamzat Chimaev came into the UFC as an undefeated 6-0 fighter and has extended his winning streak to 10-0 and has won all the fights by finishes. He is 4-0 in the UFC. Khamzat has set a unique record in the UFC as he is the least hit fighter after fighting four fights in the UFC.

Khamzat Chimaev in his last fight fought Li Jingliang on October 30, 2021, at UFC 267. The fight was a one-sided affair as Khamzat dominated Li in all aspects of the game. He took Li down in the first exchange of the fight and then landed some ground and pound before submitting him via rare naked choke.

After his win, he went on to call out Nate Diaz. In his post-fight interview, he was asked about Nate Diaz to which he replied by saying that he is open to fighting the Stockton native.

“Hey, Diaz, let’s go, brother,” Chimaev told reporters post-fight at UFC 267 (via MMAFighting). “Let’s go. You gonna get some smoke, bro. Let’s see who is the real gangster.”

“Fight, fight, fight – I love this sh*t, bro,” Chimaev said. “Make money, and it makes me happy to do this for you guys.”

After the news about Khamzat calling out, Nate went viral UFC president Dana White was quickly asked questions regarding the same. Dana White said that he likes the matchup but that isn’t the fight he looking to set for Nate Diaz.

“I just did an interview … and he was like, ‘Everybody feels like you’re feeding Nate Diaz to the wolves,’” White told BT Sport. “(Chimaev) has got four fights. Nate Diaz has been here for years. Nate Diaz was just asking for an Usman fight – that would be feeding Nate Diaz to the wolves. Listen, Khamzat Chimaev looks incredible, but he’s never fought anybody inside the top 10.”

“The last guy he fought was No. 11 and he’s never fought anybody in the top five. He’s never been in any of those kinds of fights yet. As incredible as he looks, let’s be realistic here and what he’s done in a short amount of time and how popular he’s become. But if you wanted to fight with Kamaru Usman, you shouldn’t be worried about Khamzat Chimaev.”

Since that fight is completely off the table, Khamzat Chimaev has turned his attention to the top 10 welterweights and has also revealed the timeline for his next fight.
