UFC Welterweight contender Khamzat Chimaev has called for a fight with Alex Pereira following the latter’s superb performance against Sean Strickland at UFC 276 which took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on 2nd July.

Khamzat Chimaev wants Dana White to make a fight with Pereira

Alex Pereira produced a dominating victory on the main card of UFC 276, courtesy of a swift first-round TKO of Sean Strickland. Outperforming the 4th-ranked fighter in the division while not being ranked himself earned Pereira massive accolades and attention after the fight, especially from Khamzat Chimaev.

On the heels of UFC 276, “The Wolf” took to Twitter to state that he’s looking forward to an encounter with Pereira, and even asked UFC president Dana White to make the fight happen.

“I’m want to fight with this guy @ufc @danawhite let’s make it,” tweeted Chimaev.

Alex Pereira has his eyes set on Israel Adesanya

Before starting his journey in the Octagon, Pereira had been an accomplished kickboxer and is a former Glory middleweight and light heavyweight champion. While Chimaev is on the pursuit of Pereira for a fight, the Brazilian is focusing on his former kickboxing adversary- Israel Adesanya, whom “Poatan” had brutally knocked out twice during his kickboxing career.

Adesanya marked his fifth title defense against Jared Cannonier in the main event of UFC 276 via unanimous decision. Many fans and pundits called out the bout as boring, and Pereira stated that he was not impressed by “Izzy”.

“What really upsets me is to see the way that he fought tonight,” Pereira told TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter through his translator backstage at UFC 276, “A performance like that because it is a disrespect to the crowd. I saw thousands and thousands of people here, I couldn’t even count how many and it’s sad to see people booing like that during a title fight.”

“People were leaving in round four like the fight was over. It really upsets me. So I hope he do a much better fight with me cause otherwise your screwed,” the Brazilian added. [H/T BJPenn.com]
