Khamzat Chimaev is fighting a battle of his own away from the Octagon.
The UFC middleweight star has just dropped a massive shock on the MMA community. The fighter revealed the gruesome sickness that he has been suffering from, on top of that he has also sustained a hand injury.
“Borz” took to X.com to share his condition, with a photo of him appearing to be very sick, with a swollen face, skin rashes, eye redness, and is seen in a hospital bed with oxygen mask and IV. His right hand is also seen injured in one of the photos.
Chimaev added that he is aiming to get back to action very soon.
“I was very sick, my hand was injured, so I couldn’t return right away, I want to tell all the fountains, I want to see myself in battle more than all of you, I love this job, I will do and prove that I am the best, as always we do, and I will be back soon to Insha’Allal training,” he wrote.

The Russian fighter defeated Kamaru Usman, the former welterweight champion, at UFC 294 in October 2023, which was a middleweight title eliminator. The three round majority decision win has ensured Chimaev is the next challenger to the 185-pound belt, which is currently around the waist of Sean Strickland.
