UFC prospect Khamzat Chimaev has revealed that he was offered to join the Hotboxin podcast hosted by Mike Tyson, but apparently, Khamzat refused to go to that podcast. Now Khamzat has opened up on the reason why he didn’t want to show up on the Mike Tyson podcast. Khamzat Chimaev at the moment is considered the hottest new prospect in the UFC. He is 4-0 in the UFC and 10-0 in overall MMA. He has also set the record for the least hit guy in the UFC after fighting four fights. Khamzat has been hit just twice in his four-fight UFC reign.
In his recent podcast appearance on Hustle MMA, Khamzat revealed that he was asked by his manager to go to the Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin podcast but Khamzat Chimaev surprisingly rejected that offer as he had his reasons.
“Ali said Mike Tyson also wants something, but I didn’t go. I didn’t have much desire to do that. As a fighter, an athlete, I really like him. But I don’t like what all happened with him – The violence, the pills, the marijuana, then Muslims, it’s strange. But I still respect him – Both as a fighter and as a person. He went through a lot of things and because of this, he broke down, did a lot of bad things. And no one knows what will happen to me. It can happen to anyone. A good, normal person, but something happens and you end up in a mental hospital. I don’t judge anyone, but I just didn’t want to go.”
Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz latest dispute
Khamzat Chimaev recently had a Twitter war with UFC superstar Nate Diaz. The duo went back and forth and hinted about a potential fight. Khamzat Chimaev is ready to fight Nate Diaz but it seems like Nate Diaz is not looking forward to fighting anyone from lower ranks and wants to just fight the top contenders.
“They’re coming at me with [Chimaev], and I’m like, ‘Hold on, don’t disrespect me like that, trying to offer me a fight with a rookie,’” Diaz said. “I’m cool, you got four fights in the UFC. Don’t even talk my name.”
“Fight the newer guys in the UFC,” Diaz instructed. “There’s levels to this, and I don’t even want to hear his name.”
“Hey Khamzat, if you in there, don’t be a b*tch, my boy’s right here, fight him,” Diaz said. “Anybody in the higher level even playing along to this Khamzat sh*t, you’re a b*tch, too, taking that sh*t. You’re a new rookie – deal with new people.”
Khamzat Chimaev responded to Nate by calling him a fake gangster.
