Undefeated UFC Welterweight stalwart Khamzat Chimaev has thrown his latest shades at Nate Diaz, claiming that he will earn a “smashing” victory in the contest, but also believes that Diaz is not up for the fight.

Nate won’t be the same Diaz anymore: Khamzat Chimaev

Khamzat Chimaev vs Nate Diaz has become one of the most anticipated MMA fights of this generation. To see the two MMA superstars lock horns has been on the wishlist of many fans and the promotion itself has tried to book the fight on numerous occasions, albeit, without a concrete conclusion.

While making an appearance on The BlockParty Podcast, Chimaev claimed its because of Diaz being scared is the reason why the fight has never come close to becoming a reality and the Chechnya-born Swede is also confident that if they do face off in future, he will smash the Stockton native.

“No, it’s never been close (to being done),” said Chimaev, “The skinny boy, when I said let’s fight, I was good weight, good shape, and now I’ve been lifting weights, I go up like three kilos. Now he says let’s fight. He was thinking, is August too early to cut weight? I don’t care, I’m going to cut my weight and fight with him if he’s ready. I’ll smash that boy. He won’t be the same Diaz anymore.”

“The Wolf” admits that facing Nate Diaz will be beneficial as he doesn’t want to remain inactive while the Welterweight top order sees the champion Kamaru Usman take on Leon Edwards, but if Nate keeps backing away, Chimaev is willing to take on the winner of Usman vs Edwards, or even the older Diaz sibling- Nick.

“The Diaz fight is good for us, but skinny boy is scared, and he didn’t answer. We will see. Belal said yes. I don’t care. I’ll fight everyone. Let Leon fight with Usman, who wins there, I’ll go for his head. I’ll take his head and take the money. I can take (his) brother as well. I’ll take his f*****g brother and we can smash him, too,” Chimaev added. [H/T  BJPenn.com]
