During Leon Edwards’ interview with Ariel Helwani, he addressed the backstage confrontation between him and Jorge Masvidal. The two had gotten into a fight backstage, which was caught on camera. While Masvidal said that Edwards had provoked him, Leon Edwards had a very different account of what happened in the leadup to the brawl.
Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal both won their individual fights at UFC London, with Masvidal shocking audiences by knocking out Darren Till. One he went backstage, however, Edwards allegedly approached him with his hands up, while Masvidal’s hands were behind his back. The two got into a scuffle and had to be separated by security.
According to Leon Edwards, this account of events is not completely true. He said that he was backstage doing interviews with media and was simply walking. He denied having his hands up and said that the two got into a scuffle due to Masvidal.
“His day will come. You’ll see.”

He said that had his hands been up, Masvidal would not have been able to hit him.
The two appear to be heading towards a fight of their own, building off this ‘heat’.
While some fans suggested that Leon Edwards was scared, Ariel Helwani said that Edwards had survived gang culture, and was not intimidated at all.
Important to note re: Edwards: I see some implying that Edwards is all shaken up, yet he is a product of the Erdington, Birmingham gang culture. Read about it. That is no joke. He survived that life and is now thriving. So I don’t get the sense that he is intimidated at all.
