UFC welterweight contender Leon Edwards was scheduled to fight Jorge Masvidal at UFC 269. But just a month before the fight, Jorge Masvidal has pulled out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury. Now a bunch of fighters are lining up to take Masvidal’s place and fight Leon on just a month’s notice as this will be a good opportunity for any fighter to get a win over Leon who is a bonified welterweight title contender. But Leon Edwards seems to be uninterested to fight anyone else and is planning to wait for his title shot against the UFC welterweight champion.
Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards were supposed to settle their grudge at UFC 269. The pair had got into a backstage brawl in 2019. Since then the rivalry between the two welterweight contenders started to take shape. Now two years since that backstage brawl, the duo were set to end the beef in the octagon but unfortunately, Jorge Masvidal has pulled out due to an injury. There are no reports regarding Edwards’s future on that card. Leon Edwards after knowing about Masvidal’s pull out said that he will not be fighting anyone else and will be waiting for his title shot.
Disappointed but honestly I knew this fraud didn't want to fight me anyway. He was just a stop off on the way to the title. The goal remains the same. Much needed family time now, @usman84kg i will see you soon.
