It appears that Liam Neeson does not like Conor McGregor, and he made this obvious in a recent interview with Men’s Health.

Conor McGregor is a legendary figure in the UFC, but he is also known for his antics outside of the octagon. Neeson has nothing positive to say about the first MMA fighter to simultaneously hold UFC Championships in two weight classes because he has frequently found himself in the middle of controversy. Not only is Liam Neeson not a fan of Conor McGregor, he isn’t too keen about UFC either.

“UFC I can’t stand,” Neeson says in the video(via TheRingReport.com). “That to me is like a bar fight. I know the practitioners are like, ‘Mo, you’re wrong – the months of training we do…’ Why don’t you just grab a beer bottle and hit the other guy over the head? That’s the next stage of the UFC. I hate it.”

The actor added, “That little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name. I know he’s fit, and I admire him for that. But I can’t take it.”

That is fighting talk, and it is likely that Neeson and McGregor will never appear together on screen. With co-star Jake Gyllenhaal and director Doug Liman, the UFC fighter recently began contributing his talents to Hollywood. One of his first efforts was the remake of the action thriller Road House.

Conor McGregor responds to Liam Neeson

While McGregor, 34, chose not to respond to his countryman directly, he did tweet a seemingly connected statement along with the emoji for the Irish flag, saying, “Irish proud – always.”

Conor McGregor is scheduled to coach at TUF 31 alongside Michael Chandler and are reportedly going to fight in the welterweight division at the end of the TUF Season.
