Louis Smolka pulls out of his fight against Sean O’Malley at UFC 264

UFC bantamweight fighter Louis Smolka has pulled out of his scheduled fight against Bantamweight star Sean O’Malley at UFC 264 which takes place on July 10. UFC is looking for a new opponent for O’Malley.

UFC 264: Sean Malley vs. Louis Smolka

UFC 264 card has lost one of its must-watch fights between Sean O’Malley and Louis Smolka. Both of these fighters are rising in the bantamweight rankings and many fans were excited to see them clash against each other. The fight takes place on July 10 pay-per-view event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The card is headlined by one of the biggest fights in the company’s history between two of the best fighters in the game. Conor Mcgregor takes on Dustin Poirier for the third time in his career. The duo has faced each other two times before with each of them winning a fight. The series is now level at 1-1 and the score will be settled at UFC 264.

“Louis Smolka is out of next weekend’s UFC 264 fight versus Sean O’Malley, sources say. Undisclosed injury. They were scheduled to be on the PPV main card. UFC is hoping to keep O’Malley on the card, I’m told, but no new opponent locked in yet.”

Louis Smolka was scheduled to fight José Alberto Quiñónez at UFC Fight Night 182. At the weigh-ins, Smolka weighed in at 139 pounds, three pounds over the bantamweight non-title fight limit. The match then proceeded at catchweight and Smolka was fined 20 percent of his purse. Smolka pulled out of the fights the next day as a consequence of the weigh-cut and the fight was eventually escaped from the card. The match eventually took place at UFC on ESPN 19. Smolka won the fight via technical knockout in round two.

UFC 264: With Sean o'malley

Sean last fought against former bantamweight contender Thomas Almeida and won the fight in a very decisive way. He knocked down Almeida several times in the match and evenly got the stoppage victory in the third round. UFC is now looking for a quick replacement for Sean to fight at UFC 264 as they don’t wanna lose a star from the card. Fighters like Ricky Simon, Tim Elliot, and Merab Dvalishvili have already put their name in the mix to fight at short notice. Let’s see what UFC does to fix this matchup.
