Nutlai Lalbiakkima has knocked out Gerttipong Kumsahwat in the second round to successfully defend his IBA Mimimumweight Intercontinental title.
This was a dominating performance by Nutlai Lalbiakkima who was in control for the entirety of the fight. He controlled the momentum of the fight and was landing hard jabs right from the start. He also mixed in his combinations. In the first round, he also landed a hard right hand which dropped the Thai fighter.
Nutlai started strong in the second round itself and followed up with his game plan of landing hard body and head shots. With just under a minute remaining on the clock, the Mizo boxing sensation landed a combination and forced the Thai fighter retreating towards the rope. The referee Darshak Pawase had seen enough and stepped in to stop the fight.

The fight was Nutlai Lalbiakkima’s first title defense since his win over Sandeep Kumar, where he won the IBA title. The fight against Sandeep Kumar took place in August earlier this year at the Marine Center in Vashi.
The fight card was dubbed LPS Fight night and the show is promoted by Marine Pro Boxing Promotions & LPS Promotions.
