It looks like Luke Rockhold’s fighting days are over as the former UFC middleweight champion recently said that he has no interest in fighting now.
Rockhold became the UFC champion at UFC 194 when he knocked out Chris Weidman in the fourth round. However, he lost his title in the very next fight to Michael Bisping at UFC 199 via knockout in the first round. Rockhold is 3-1 in his last four fights inside the Octagon. He made his light heavyweight debut back in July at UFC 239, where he got knocked out in the second round by Jan Blachowicz.
“I have no interest in fighting right now,” Rockhold said. He said that the possibility of walking away from the sport of Mixed Martial Arts was very much likely.
Rockhold suffered a broken jaw in his last fight against Blachowicz for which he had to undergo surgery and insert a titanium plate.
The 35-year old has also battled numerous injuries in his career with the most prominent one being his shin injury that kept him out of the cage for a total of 511 days.
Even if Rockhold retires from fighting, he can revert to modelling where he is doing really well and has made numerous appearances on Polo Ralph Lauren ads.
