Luke Rockhold undergoes knee surgery, out for three weeks

The former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has apparently suffered an injury to his knee. The former American Kickboxing Academy man has also undergone a knee surgery.

It should be noted that AKA is notorious and extremely infamous because their fighters have a tendency of getting injured too often. In the past, even when AKA fighters dominated the MMA scene and held world title belts, plenty of their champions and other fighters often dropped out of the fight due to getting injured in the training camp leading up to a fight.

The news about Rockhold’s injury was first broken by noted MMA and combat sports journalist, Ariel Helwani of ESPN. Helwani reported that Rockhold even underwent a knee surgery on Monday. According to Helwani, Rockhold himself described the process as a “minor surgery” on his meniscus. The surgery is set to sideline him for at least about three weeks.
