Mackenzie Dern is fresh off her win over Angela Hill and is finding her current top priority in Rose Namajunas.
It’s not gonna be an easy fight: Mackenzie Dern
Dern gave one of the best performances of her career last Saturday night as she dominantly defeated Hill via unanimous decision in the strawweight main event of UFC Vegas 73, relentlessly displaying her striking and submission skills throughout.
This win marked the American Brazilian’s return to winning ways after her loss to Xiaonan Yan in October last year, and immediately after the victory, Dern had one name on her mind- former champion Rose Namajunas, who is her next target.
“I follow her (Rose) on social media too and I think she did like an ADCC regional or something like that. I mean I’m a former ADCC champion, so for me, I’m always happy when I see the MMA girls doing jiu-jitsu and things like that,” said Dern.
“So, definitely for sure to fight Rose is a priority of mine right now. I think it would be a great fight, a good main event, and a good test for both of us. So, when I see her training her jiu-jitsu, I’m like it’s not gonna be an easy fight, but I think it could be a great fight for the public and for us,” she added. [H/T MMA Junkie]
“Thug” Rose has remained inactive since May 2022 when she lost her title to Carla Esparza, and that was the only time she fought last year. As of now, she still doesn’t have any fight lined up, and it will be interesting to see if she agrees to a match against Dern.
