A strawweight contest between Mackenzie Dern and Jessica Andrade has been added to the upcoming UFC 295 event, set to take place in November.
Dern vs. Andrade was made official by the UFC last Saturday night during UFC 292. The fight will be featured on the undercard of UFC 295, set to take place on 11th November at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. A UFC Heavyweight championship contest between the reigning champion Jon Jones and former two-time champion Stipe Miocic will headline the event.
Following a majority decision defeat against Yan Xiaonan last year, Dern made a comeback victory this year, defeating Angela Hill via unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 73 in May. The Brazilian-American is currently ranked 8th in the UFC strawweight division.
Andrade, on the other hand, is in dire requirement of a comeback victory. The former 115-pound champ who is currently ranked 6th in the division, is on a three-fight losing streak, having suffered defeats in three out of her four appearances in the Octagon this year. Following a win over Lauren Murphy in January, “Bate Estaca” lost to Erin Blanchfield, Yan Xiaonan and most recently against Tatiana Suarez.
