In a recent turn of events, Magomed Ankalaev has publicly claimed that Alex Pereira turned down the opportunity to headline UFC 310. This came after Belal Muhammad was forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout with Shavkat Rakhmonov due to a severe bone infection in his toe. With the main event spot vacant, rumors circulated that Pereira was approached to step in, but he declined.

Magomed Ankalaev Calls Out Alex Pereira

Ankalaev, eager to seize the opportunity, took to social media to express his willingness to fight on December 7 and directly called out Pereira. In a pointed post, Ankalaev mocked Pereira’s recent indigenous ceremony photos, writing, “Focus on MMA, voodoo is not gonna help you my son. I promise all my friends I’m going to punish this guy. I will knock him out Inshallah.”

Pereira’s team has since confirmed that he was not approached for the fight and that he already has commitments for the rest of the year. Despite this, Magomed Ankalaev remains adamant about his desire to face Pereira and has urged UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard to formalize the bout.

The vacancy has also attracted interest from other fighters like Ian Garry and Joaquin Buckley, who are eager to step in for Rakhmonov. UFC 310 is scheduled for December 7 at T-Mobile Arena and will feature other fan favorites like Ciryl Gane, Nick Diaz, and Alexandre Pantoja.
