Manel Kape, the flyweight contender, recently made a bold prediction about a hypothetical street fight between him and middleweight legend Israel Adesanya. The two fighters had previously faced off on the same card at UFC 293, where Adesanya was the undisputed middleweight champion and Kape held the number 10 spot in the flyweight division. During the pre-fight press conference, Kape had a verbal altercation with Adesanya, which many believed he won against the bigger man.

In a recent appearance on the JAXXON podcast, Kape confidently stated, “I’m undefeated in the streets… I already beat many guys of his size.” When asked if he thought he could beat Adesanya, Kape responded, “Yeah, I’m pretty good too, bro.” His bravado caught the attention of the podcast hosts, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Bear Degidio. Kape’s confidence in a street fight against Adesanya surprised many, considering the weight difference between the two fighters.

Despite the wild prediction, Kape’s assertion is not entirely baseless. He had previously stood his ground against Adesanya during their UFC 293 encounter, and it’s likely he wouldn’t hesitate to throw hands if given the opportunity.

Kape also revealed that Adesanya had apologized to him backstage after their verbal exchange, but Kape hadn’t fully accepted the apology. In his view, Adesanya shouldn’t have meddled in the dispute between Kape and Kai Kara-France, Adesanya’s teammate.

Was Manel Kape forced to move down to the flyweight division?

Manel Kape has recently moved down to the flyweight division in the UFC, fighting in the lightest weight class. Before joining the UFC, he held the RIZIN bantamweight championship. Interestingly, Kape’s move to flyweight wasn’t entirely his decision; it was part of the UFC’s plan to inject more excitement into the division.

Kape accepted the challenge and has adjusted his lifestyle to meet the flyweight limit. His confidence and willingness to take on bigger opponents make him an intriguing fighter to watch in the UFC’s flyweight division.

While a street fight between Manel Kape and Israel Adesanya remains purely hypothetical, fans can’t help but imagine what would happen if these two talented fighters ever crossed paths outside the octagon. Whether it’s in the cage or on the streets, Kape’s boldness and determination continue to make him a compelling figure in the world of mixed martial arts.
