UFC president Dana White also hinted that he will be making some big announcements in the world of boxing.

“The world of boxing hasn’t been able to do what I’ve been able to do [in MMA] over the last 20 years,” Dana White told BT Sport.

“If they can’t do things when the world is normal, you can’t expect them to do things when the world is crazy. I peeked under the hood a lot there for the last year. Looked at different things and I said, ‘I don’t know man, I don’t know if this is fixable’.Funny enough, since the pandemic I’ve been looking at other options too. And we’ll probably have something to announce here soon. Yeah [it is in the world of boxing].

“When it’s time, I’ll let you know, I’m not ready yet. But [it’ll be] in the next couple of weeks.” White concluded.

Manny Pacquiao vs Conor McGregor Confirmed

Manny Pacquiao also confirmed that he is going to fight McGregor. Pacquiao’s assistant, Jayke Joson, released a statement saying the bout will take place, with part of the fighter’s earnings going to COVID-19 relief in the Philippines.

“For the sake of all the Filipino Covid-19 victims, Senator Manny Pacquiao will be fighting UFC superstar Conor McGregor next year,” Joson said, per ESPN Ringside. “The huge portion of his earnings will proceed to those who are affected nationwide by the pandemic.”

On Friday, McGregor’s manager, Audie Attar, told ESPN that the two sides were in “serious talks” about a fight but it wasn’t a done deal yet. Attar, who represents both fighters, said the bout would take place in late December or early January, and the Middle East was among a few locations being discussed. Attar also added that McGregor is planning to return to the UFC in 2021 following his fight with Pacquiao.

The MMA world always knew that McGregor is not the type of guy who will sit on the couch and relax, so his return his not a bit surprised but what people didn’t expect was a boxing match with another boxing great in Manny Pacquiao. There’s still lot’s of news to be confirmed like the exact location and the exact date. Till then it’s a big announcement made that has made fans of both boxing and MMA go crazy.
