Phil De Fries & Tomasz Narkun Title Fights Official for KSW 50
KSW heavyweight champion Phil De Fries (17-6) has received a new challenger for the main event of KSW 50. Brazil’s Luis ‘KLB’ Henrique (12-5) will step in for the injured Damian Grabowski (hand injury) to take on the Englishman in an attempt to dethrone him on home soil at the milestone event.

Henrique made his KSW debut with an impressive submission win over KO machine Michal Andryszak at KSW 49. The 26-year-old went 7-1 on the local scene in Brazil before being signed up by the UFC in 2015. He went on to compete six times for the promotion and scored submission wins over Christian Columbo and Dmitry Smolyakov. Overall ‘KLB’ possesses a 75% finishing ratio with six wins via submission and will provide a dangerous challenge for the heavyweight champ.

Currently on a five-fight-win-streak, Phil De Fries has found new life since joining KSW last year and has risen to become one of the best heavyweights on the planet. The 33-year-old joined the promotion after back to back wins and won the vacant heavyweight title in his promotional debut with a first round TKO victory over Michal Andryszak at KSW 43. He then defended the title against the former longest reigning KSW heavyweight champ Karol Bedorf before then winning a Champ vs. Champ superfight against light heavyweight champ Tomasz Narkun. De Fries will now look to defend the title once again on home soil at KSW 50 and continue his reign of dominance.

In the co-main event of KSW 50 it was also recently confirmed that Tomasz Narkun (16-3) will defend his KSW light heavyweight title against London-based Polish fighter Przemyslaw Mysiala (23-9-1).
Narkun, who last defend his crown at the historic KSW 39 stadium event, took a short break from the light heavyweight division and sought out superfights. In 2018 he faced the legendary Mamed Khalidov in a pair of instant classic fights and become the first man to ever defeat Khalidov in the KSW arena. Then Narkun sought out to capture the heavyweight title and stepped up to face Phil De Fries at KSW 47. Despite the huge size disadvantage, Narkun pushed De Fries the full five round and after a grueling contest he lost out on the judges scorecard. Now the 29-year-old returns to defend his title and attempt to remind everyone why he is widely considered one of the best light heavyweights in Europe.
However, challenging him will be Przemyslaw Mysiala, a fighter who sees this as finally his big opportunity. The veteran has been competing professionally since 2004 and has quietly fought his way through the European scene and competed for the likes of BAMMA, Bellator, and a host of European promotions. After going on a seven-fight undefeated run he then, much like Narkun, stepped up to heavyweight and competed on the TUF 28 show. Now back down at his natural weight class he will attempt to become the new KSW light heavyweight champion.
