The fourth edition of Matrix Fight Night is back and it will take place at the Al-Nasr sports club on February 7, 2020, in Dubai, UAE. The MFN 4 card will feature 14 fighters.
The fight card will feature a welterweight bout between Jason Solomon and Pawan Maan. This is the first time the Indian Mixed Martial Arts promotion is holding an MMA event in a GCC country.
The promotion, which is backed by Bollywood superstar Tiger Shroff has previously held events successfully in Mumbai and Delhi. Their last event took place at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai on December 20th.
The main event between Pawan Maan and Jason Solomon has been in heavy demand by Indian MMA fans. Pawan Maan recently competed at MFN 3 against Sandeep Dahiya and the fight ended in a controversial draw. Maan later appeared on the MMA India Show and said that he was targeting a fight against Solomon next and would pursue a rematch with Dahiya later.
On the other hand, Solomon is coming off of a first-round Kimura submission loss to Srikant Sekhar at MFN 2, which took place in Delhi.
The C0-main event will feature a lightweight title bout between Anshul Jubli and Rajith Chandran.
Anshul Jubli is coming off of a unanimous decision victory over Amit Raj at MFN 3, whereas Rajith Chandran is coming off of a TKO win over Lionel Mascarenhas at Super Fight League in February of 2018.
Another fighter who is making a quick turn around is Sumeet Khade, who is taking on Pawan Goyat in a featherweight match-up. Sumeet is coming off of a controversial unanimous decision loss to Dhruv Chaudhary.
The pair agreed to a rematch on the MMA India Show, but it looks like the matchmakers for the MFN had something different on the minds. Nonetheless, it’s an exciting fight and is sure to spark a lot of interest amongst fans.
Other fights on the card include:
Vikas Ruhil vs Kuldeep Singh Sekhon – Lightweight category
Sanjeet Budhwar vs Shyamanand – Featherweight category
Ravinder Balhara vs Abhishek Rana – Welterweight category
Ishika Thite vs Naipunya Sunil – Strawweight category
