Matrix Fight Night, India’s first-ever MMA promotion is all set to return to action with their upcoming event Matrix Fight Night 9, set to take place this 24th June at the Siri Fort, DDA Badminton Courts in New Delhi. Like all of its previous editions, MFN 9 is all geared up to bring the MMA fans of the country another mouth-watering fight card.
Sanjeet Budhwar takes on Dorde Stojanovic in the main event of Matrix Fight Night 9
The main event of MFN 9 will feature a catchweight (6k5kg) bout in which Indian MMA star Sanjeet Budhwar (7-2-0) will lock horns against Dorde Stojanovic (5-1-0) from Serbia.
Ranked 6th out of the 65 active Asia South Pro Featherweights and 20th out of the current 219 active Middle East Pro Featherweights, Sanjeet is fighting out of Rohtak, Haryana and is coming off of a 2nd round knockout victory against defeats Dhruv Chaudhary at MFN 8 back in April.
Taking on Sanjeet is Serbian fighter Dorde Stojanovic, who is making his MFN debut at MFN 9. Having turned pro in 2017, Stojanovic suffered his first professional career defeat in his last fight, against Danijel Spoljaric at SBC 31 & MMA Series 36 in July last year.
The co-main event of MFN 9 is getting a strawweight bout between India’s Jojo Rajkumari (1-1-0) and Filipino fighter Mary Jane Buna.
The first MMA fighter out of the Indian state of Manipur, Jojo was last seen in action defeating Ishika Thite at MFN 7, following the loss on her pro debut against Puja Tomar at MFN 6.
Nicknamed “The Visayan Fighter”, Mary Jane is undefeated as a professional and had her last outing against Jonabel Moton back in December 2019 in her native MMA promotion Underground Battle.
