Matt Brown claims Johny Hendricks was on steroids

UFC Welterweight Matt Brown recently visited famous colour commentator Joe Rogan on his podcast. The duo talked on various different topics such as Brown’s battle with drug addiction, beef with Snoop Dogg, respect for Conor McGregor, etc. However, the most interesting topic of deliberation was MMA fighters testing positive for doping. Brown also revealed that he believes former UFC Welterweight champion Johny Hendricks was certainly on steroids.

“The Immortal” Brown has a MMA record of 21-16 and won his last fight against Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night 120 via TKO due to an elbow. Brown had apparently retired after his victory over Sanchez. However, his retirement looks to have short lived and he is currently interested in fighting inside the octagon against Carlos Condit.

Brown had fought Hendricks at UFC 185. He lost the fight to Hendricks via a unanimous decision.

The American stated how he was the last fighter Hendricks had faced, before USADA started testing athletes. He went on to claim how Hendricks has never been the same again after USADA came. Here’s an excerpt from the comments made by “The Immortal” on Hendricks’ alleged steroid usage:

“Johny Hendricks was the most obvious (steroid user) performance wise. I was his last fight before USADA, I felt it first-hand, it was a completely different world.”

Hendricks has never tested positive so it’s difficult to accuse him of steroid use. However, he has never been the same fighter post-USADA. Brown and Rogan might also be true in their believes that from a performance point-of-view Hendricks was affected the most by USADA’s arrival.
