Matt Mitrione recently appeared on The MMA Hour, and opened up on a myriad of topics.

Apparently, Mitrione—who’s had a ton of criticism for the UFC in the past—doubled down on the same, and spoke about the promotion being unable to get out of its own way.

Matt Mitrione competed on the UFC’s reality show TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) and rose to prominence in recent years, as he gradually added skills to his already impressive repertoire of athleticism and explosiveness.

Regardless, Mitrione left the UFC in 2016, and has since been competing in Bellator MMA.

Matt Mitrione criticized the UFC, recently not paying a certain fighter his show money, despite the fighter having made weight. ‘Meathead’ stated the following on the UFC—

“I feel like they’re not in like a colossal nosedive, but I don’t think they’re in the right spot.” Mitrione continued—“I think very casually, [Bellator president] Mr. [Scott] Coker does what he needs to do to bring fans or eyes over to Bellator. I think their production is completely different with Bellator. It’s a spectacle. He took a page from old Japanese MMA and made it bananas.”

Mitrione added—“It’s good business, man.”

Furthermore, Mitrione explained that he’s likely to retire from the sport of MMA very soon, as he’d like to spend more time with his children.

Matt Mitrione faces Roy Nelson at Bellator 194 on February 16th.

The winner of the match advances to the next round of the Bellator Heavyweight tournament, with the winner receiving the Bellator Heavyweight Championship.
