UFC 236 managed to deliver two equally entertaining five-rounds of war during the co-main and the main event. In the co-main event, Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum delivered the best interim championship fight of the year and in this fight, the Kiwi fighter Adesanya won the interim middleweight title.
In the main event, Max Holloway moved up in weight class to challenge Dustin Poirier for the vacant interim lightweight title. Poirier managed to capture the title via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46).
However, in both the fights, the losing fighter took an excessive amount of damage for which both Max Holloway and Kelvin Gastelum have been handed a medical suspension by the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission and both are out indefinitely pending CT scan results.
