A mouth-watering clash between UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway and former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is all set to take place at UFC 240 at the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on July 27, 2019.
Although the fight is two months away, Holloway recently gave an interview to James Lynch of the Score where he talked about the NBA finals and how much big of a Toronto Raptors fan he is. He now has made a very bold prediction where he believes that Raptors will beat Gold State Warriors in 6.
The Toronto Raptors made history last month by becoming the first Canadian team to reach the NBA finals after beating the Milwaukee Bucks 100-94 in Game 6.
“6 games again,” he said. “Why not beat them in Golden State? We take the first two, we might take one away, they might take one [in Toronto]. Then we win the sixth one there. That’s the plan.”
He also said that he is highly inspired by the Toronto Raptors especially by the teams small forward Kawhi Leonard.
“[Kawhi Leonard] said one of the most awesome things I’ve ever heard,” Holloway said. “People asked him ‘do you think you’re the best player in the NBA right now,’ he said ‘I don’t care, I want to be the best team.’ That’s what I believe. Everybody sees me fighting, I’m one guy, and I win the belt, but they don’t see the team that’s behind me. I’ve got so many guys that sacrifice so much for me — my coaches, my training partners, my own family, my son. They all sacrifice a lot for me, and it’s a team thing. When I heard that, it’s very inspiring. Not only his on-court stuff is inspiring, but his off-court stuff is inspiring too.” (H/T – BJPENN.com)
