UFC 303 will now feature a light heavyweight title clash between reigning champion Alex Pereira and former champion Jiri Prochazka. UFC CEO Dana White has indicated that the promotion will consider rescheduling the McGregor vs. Chandler fight once McGregor is fully healed. According to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, the UFC aims to reschedule the bout for August or September.
However, doubts linger about McGregor’s fighting future. Former UFC champion Daniel Cormier questions whether McGregor will ever step inside the octagon again. Cormier acknowledges McGregor’s extravagant lifestyle and suggests that the longer the wait, the less likely it is that he will return to competitive fighting.
After the announcement combat sports enthusiasts erupted with all kinds of reactions and expressed their concerns over the issue, it will be interesting to see whether we will be able to witness Conor McGregor in the Octagon again or is this Injury going to finish the career of one of the greatest UFC fighters ever.
