Former UFC welterweight champion BJ Penn is fighting Clay Guida at UFC 237 in Rio De Janeiro at the Jeunesse Arena on May 11 and has vowed to fight for the UFC title again, but fans are sceptical if Penn is serious as he is riding on a Six-fight losing streak. The last time Penn won a fight inside the Octagon was back in 2010 when he knocked out Matt Hughes at UFC 123.

However, a prominent MMA website decided to run a story regarding his future fighting ambitions inside the Octagon and former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has hit back at the website for disrespecting Penn who has helped build the sport of MMA.

Not surprising you’re disrespecting someone that helped build the sport you make a living off. He’s in a tough place, but rather than admire his ambition and fighting spirit you choose to ridicule him.”Bisping tweeted.

The writer of the story Ben Fowles immediately went back on the defensive and replied to Bisping saying that the article didn’t ridicule BJ Penn.

There’s no ridicule there. And there’s plenty of respect if you actually take the time to read it. But that doesn’t oblige us to sit here and pretend like this is headed anywhere good. And you know that.” Fowles replied.
