Former UFC lightweight title challenger Michael Chandler has criticized Dustin Poirier who lost his second title shot against the lightweight champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 269. The no.1 ranked lightweight contender Dustin Poirier challenged Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title at UFC 269. The fight was going well for Poirier in the first round but then he got dominated on the ground in the second round of the fight. In the third round, Oliveira took Poirier’s back and submitted him via RNC. Though Poirier was doing well in the standup, Charles Oliveira’s submission game was too good for Dustin to handle.

Michael Chandler had fought Charles Oliveira at UFC 262 for the vacant lightweight title and he had lost the fight via TKO in round 2. Now after UFC 269 was over, Michael Chandler made some harsh comments on Dustin Poirier’s performance.

“I would never quit.” Chandler wrote. “I went out and my shield after being separated from consciousness, congrats to Oliveira.”

“The way I see it… the whole world wants to see me rematch 2 out of the 3 fights I’ve had in the UFC. that’s how you come in and make a statement. I’d never quit. Congrats to Oliveira. Punch your ticket with Gaethje this summer and I’ll see you at the end of 2022.”

Michael Chandler also made Tweets stating that Justin Gaethje who is next in line to face Oliviera will defeat him.

I make ill-advised decisions at times. But I’m there to put y’all on the edge of your seat so you miss me when I’m gone. I promise you will. Most of these guys are here to “play mma.” #UFC269″

“Gaethje breaks Charlie Olives… CHANGE MY MIND. #ufc269”

“Ok, imagine, it’s June 2022. I lost to the former champion after beating him 10-8 in round one, ROTY candidate. And the new champion the whole world wants to see me run back my FOTY with. Less than 1.5 years after making my #ufc debut. Ooooh…it’s good to be me. #ufc269”

Dustin Poirier after the fight said that he really worked hard for this second title shot but now after the loss, he feels heartbroken.

“It sucks, man, you know?” an emotional Poirier told MMA Media at a post-fight news conference. “I worked hard to get back here and fight for another world title. I got choked out again. I’m just heartbroken, really.”
