In the wake of Conor McGregor’s recent civil case verdict, Michael Chandler has shared his candid thoughts on the situation and its implications for McGregor’s fighting future. McGregor, who was found liable for sexually assaulting a woman in December 2018, has been ordered to pay €248,000 in compensation. Despite McGregor’s plans to challenge the decision, the verdict has sparked widespread speculation about his return to the octagon.

During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Chandler expressed his hope that McGregor would soon resume training and prepare for a comeback. “If I were in that position, obviously, the last thing I would want to do is not be training and not be moving forward toward a common goal,” Chandler said. He added, “Why not fight me? Why not be training to fight me in the middle of next year, International Fight Week, before that, as soon as possible? I’m ready to get back into training camp right after Jan. 1, and we can make that fight happen ASAP”.

Will Conor McGregor Fight Ever Again?

Chandler’s comments come at a time when Conor McGregor’s future in the UFC is uncertain. The Irishman has not competed since suffering a broken leg during his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. Although McGregor was initially slated to make his comeback against Chandler at UFC 303, the bout was canceled due to a toe injury McGregor sustained during training.

As the MMA community continues to debate Conor McGregor’s next move, Chandler remains optimistic about the possibility of facing him in the octagon. “It’s a horrible position for everyone involved,” Chandler said. “The best thing he can do, most likely, is to get back moving towards a common goal. Why not fight me?”

Chandler’s callout has added another layer of intrigue to the ongoing saga of McGregor’s career. Whether McGregor will accept the challenge and return to the octagon remains to be seen, but one thing is certain, the MMA world will be watching closely.
