Dustin Poirier’s Louisiana Style Hot Sauce has its reputation in the mixed martial arts community, and his upcoming opponent Michael Chandler has turned out to be its latest reviewer, albeit in a bizarre fashion.

Poirier and Chandler are set to lock horns on the undercard of UFC 281, set to take place on 12th November at the Madison Square Garden. The two 155-pound stars have already started to build adversity between them, especially the UFC 276 altercation which took things up a notch. And now, Chandler has taken it to a new turn with reviewing Poirier’s Hot Sauce.

In a recent clip uploaded on his Instagram story, ‘Iron’ is seen taking a bottle of Hot Sauce and dumping it in the trash with a ‘not impressed’ gesture, but then went back and picked up the bottle again and spread the sauce on chicken wings and took a bite and finished his review by saying “it’s pretty good”.

Michael Chandler says he will be lightweight champ “by middle of next year”

The former three-time Bellator Lightweight champion is coming off from a brutal front kick KO win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 274, his first win following two back to back losses against Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Chandler said that he’s confident about defeating Poirier next and after that, will be looking forward to the winner of Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 for the lightweight title.

“I’ve still got my sights set on becoming world champion,” said Chandler, “I think I beat Dustin on Nov. 12, I think I’m the next guy in line. I fight Islam or Oliveira, first quarter of next year or summer of next year. Whenever that fight materializes, and I’m your world champion by middle of next year.”

“I think Charles wins that fight,” Chandler commented on the Oliveira vs Makhachev matchup, “I think it’s crazy that Islam is a favorite. I would say aside from Charles Oliveira not making weight in the last fight, which was obviously unprofessional, the guy has looked very, very good. Finishing guys, his hands have come a long, long way, and just his overall confidence.”

“He’s our champion, not technically, but he’s in everybody’s eyes our champion for a reason,” Chandler added, “I think he goes out there and beats Islam handedly.” [H/T MMA Mania]
