Had Conor Mcgregor not decided to create mayhem at the end of the media day of UFC 223, Anthony Pettis and Michael Chiesa would have already squared off by now . But due to “The Notorious” throwing a dolly at a bus carrying the fighters, supposed to fight on the scheduled PPV, and injuring some of them, which included Chiesa getting facial lacerations, their fight was rescheduled for UFC 226 on 7th July.
Chiesa looks to bounce back from a loss in his last fight against Kevin Lee last June which snapped his three fight winning streak. In his latest Instagram post he vows to bring out the best version of himself in three weeks at UFC 226.
“Showtime”, on the other hand, is looking to resurrect a career that has seen him hold both UFC and WEC lightweight gold. He looks to make a comeback at lightweight after his short stint at featherweight, defeating Jim Miller and earning a Fight of the Night bonus in a TKO loss to Dustin Porier, respectively in his last two fights.
