UFC Welterweight contender Michel Pereira has found his next target in Jorge Masvidal, claiming that the BMF champion slid into his wife’s DMs and now wants to settle the score inside the Octagon. Masvidal, however, accused Pereira back, claiming that he is creating a “fake narrative” to land a fight.
The rising 170-pounder, who is on a five fight win streak since September 2020, marked his most recent victory against Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC Vegas 55 on 21st May, defeating the Argentine fighter via split decision.
In the press conference that followed the event, Pereira called out two of the greatest fighters in the division- Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, but in case of the latter, things are more personal.
“I really want to fight Nate Diaz because I think it’d be really fun to slap each other around. I think it’d be a really fun fight. I think we’d put on a show for all the fans,” said Pereira,“And also, Jorge Masvidal because I have a little bit of a problem with him, and I want to settle it.” [H/T MMA Junkie]
“Demolidor” went on saying that Masvidal sent a praying emoji to his wife Gina Amir and not to him and wants the answer inside the Octagon.

“So he sent an emoji to my wife – the emoji with the two hands together like (praying). He sent it to my wife and didn’t send it to me. And you know, I never actually crossed paths with him, never had the chance to ask him. So I figured, you know, I really want to understand, but might as well understand inside the octagon. So we’ll just settle it over there,” the Brazilian added.
Masvidal also responded to the callout from Pereira, denying his claim as he attached a screenshot of the conversation between him and Pereira’s wife on Twitter, accusing Pereira for creating a “fake narrative”.
“How crazy a world and how far has society fallen that this idiot @UfcPereira would use his wife to hopefully 1 day get a paycheck and create a fake narrative to try and get a fight with me when clearly he sees she slid in my dm? Wishing you guys the best #marriagecounselor,” tweeted “Gamebred”.
