Who has been the UFC and MMA in general’s biggest showman with all the fancy moves inside the octagon and great trash talking abilities outside of it? Conor McGregor and Israel Adesanya’s names certainly pop up quite high on the list. However, UFC newcomer Michel Pereira who made his Octagon debut earlier this year is now eager to usurp that spot from the duo.
Pereira will be facing off against Tristan Connelly at UFC Vancouver in a catchweight fight. Pereira is a welterweight fighter with a professional MMA record of 23-9.
In a recent interview given to MMA Fighting, Pereira stated that he wants to take over the moniker of being an entertaining fighter and an even better showman for the UFC from McGregor and Adesanya. Here’s what he had to say:
I think about becoming the welterweight champion and in the future face big names like (interim champion Israel) Adesanya at middleweight. There aren’t many cool opponents at middleweight for me to fight. I’m going after the best at both welterweight and middleweight, so I don’t care. What I want to do is put on a show for everybody. I like Adesanya because he’s a showman. I want to fight the showmen because I want to become the biggest showman in the UFC. At 170, I think about fighting Conor McGregor. At middleweight, Adesanya. I want to fight the ones that put on a show because I want to prove that I’m UFC’s showman.
I’ll prove everyone that I’m a great fighter.
