UFC on ESPN+ 14 in Montevideo, Uruguay, featured an absolute barb burner of a co-main event as super technical Vicente ‘The Silent Assassin’ Luque edged out brawler ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry via a razor thin split decision.
Perry, known for his hard hitting brawling style, did no different as he took the fight to Luque. Coming off a five-fight winning streak, Luque wasn’t going to back down as he gave it back to Perry. Perry, who was planning for a small vacation after his marriage in September, according to many was closing towards a victory. However got caught with a huge knee in the final minutes causing blood being gushed out brutally.
The cut which from the looks of it seemed like a septum injury, reportedly crushed Perry’s nose into three pieces. Perry’s vacation might be a tad bit painful, as the surgery was done and dusted in Uruguay itself. The news was revealed by Ariel Helwani of ESPN. (via Twitter):
Mike Perry underwent successful nose surgery in Uruguay early this AM, per his mgr Abraham Kawa. Kawa said he had some previous fractures in his nose that had to be taken care, as well, so the surgery was a bit lengthy. He’s expected to remain there for at least a couple days.

The current status on his health are not available yet. Despite the loss, Perry’s stock did go up tonight. Luque on the other hand, might find himself in the welterweight rankings when they come out next week.
