Mike Perry will have only two individuals in his corner for his UFC 255 fight against Tim mMeans.
Mike Perry did something very unusual when he decided to not have any coaches in his corner, and instead have his girlfriend Latory Gonzalez corner him for his last fight against Mickey Gall. Although most people did not think this was a smart move, it played out well for Mike Perry who used the ring time all two times as the fight went the distance. When asked if he is planning to continue this practice, he said he will auction off his corner spots. Darren Till showed interest in this, and said he would pay five thousand dollars to be in his corner.
While Till was serious about it, Mike Perry’s manager dismissed any claims of that happening. According to Abraham Kawa, Perry will have his girlfriend and his long time friend, and not Darren Till in his corner.
Mike Perry returns this weekend.
His corner, per his manager Abraham Kawa, will be his (pregnant) girlfriend and a long-time friend of his who isn’t a fighter.
Darren Till did not make the cut.

“Mike Perry returns this weekend. His corner, per his manager Abraham Kawa, will be his (pregnant) girlfriend and a long-time friend of his who isn’t a fighter. Darren Till did not make the cut,” ESPN’s Ariel Helwani tweeted.
Many fans seem to be disappointed at this news, as expectations were high from Darren Till to be a cornerman for fellow Welterweight Mike Perry.
Will it work out for Mike Perry again?
All throughout the sports’ history, the fighter’s coach has played an important role during the fight as a cornerman. The job of a coach does not end when the fighter enters the Octagon or the ring, but continues during the fight as a means for tactical transitions. Mike Perry seemed to have taken an enormous risk when he said he would not have his coach in the corner. But it worked out for him well the first time.
Previously scheduled to fight Robbie Lawler, Perry is now set to fight Tim Means who is much more experienced than Mickey Gall. Both individuals in his corner have no experience in the fight business, and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that Mike is putting himself in a dangerous spot here. It will be interesting to see if this strategy works out for Platinum perry this time.
