Back in April, Mike Tyson made headlines for a brutal knockout punch- just like he used to do back in his prime. However this time, the KO took place away from the squared circle, all the way up in an airplane, as Tyson punched a fellow passenger after being harassed. Almost two months later, the former pugilist has spoken up about the incident.

Mike Tyson says he was back at his “primitive child stages”

On 20th April, Mike Tyson was onboard a JetBlue aircraft that was flying to Florida from the San Francisco International Airport. As reported by an eyewitness present on the plane, Tyson was greeted by fans and the 55-year-old was initially composed with everyone around him.

However, the situation changed when an overly excited friend of the eyewitness, who was sitting just behind Tyson, was constantly trying to talk to the boxing legend throughout the flight. Tyson had repeatedly asked the person to calm down but when he didn’t, “Iron Mike” got up and threw multiple punches at him.

Later, on his “Hotboxin with Mike Tyson” podcast, the former Heavyweight champion said that it was a mistake for him to take a public aircraft. “He was f****** with me, man. I shouldn’t even be taking public planes. My wife gets mad that I take public planes but what am I gonna do on a f*** plane with my friends?” the 55-year-old stated. [H/T BJPenn.com]

Recently on  Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tyson admitted that it was a step he shouldn’t have taken and it reminded him of his younger, more brutal persona.

“I’m usually good at these things. I guess it was just his number,” said Tyson, “But I was wrong. That never should’ve happened, that’s me back at my primitive child stages. I shouldn’t have done that, but I was irritated, tired, high, pissed off, yeah. S*** happens.” [H/T MMA Fighting]
