UFC Light-heavyweight fight between Misha Cirkunov and Ryan Spann has been added to UFC Vegas 17: Edwards vs. Chimaev.

UFC Vegas 17 will feature a Welterweight showdown between Khamzat Chimaev and Leon Edwards, while Marlon Moraes and Rob Font co-headline the event. In further main card action, Stephen Thompson returns to face Geoff Neal, while Belal Muhammad faces Dhiego Lima at 170 pounds.

Many new fights have been added to the year-end event, including a Light Heavyweight bout between heavy hitters Misha Cirkunov and Ryan Spann. Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA was the first to break the news that Cirkunov vs. Spann will take place on the undercard of the upcoming UFC Vegas 17 card, which takes place on December 19 at the UFC Apex.

Misha Cirkunov (15-5) is the No. 10 ranked light heavyweight in the UFC. The 33-year-old Canadian is 6-3 since joining the UFC back in 2015, with wins over Jimmy Crute, Pat Cummins, Nikita Krylov, Ion Cutelaba, Alex Nicholson, and Daniel Jolly. His three losses came against Johnny Walker, Glover Teixeira, and Volkan Oezdemir, with all three of those losses by stoppage.

Cirkunov is coming off a first-round submission of Jimmy Crute at UFC 243 in October 2019, bouncing the young Aussie prospect out of the ranks of the unbeaten. All six of Cirkunov’s UFC wins have come by finish.

Spann saw his eight-fight winning streak snapped in September when he was stopped by Johnny Walker at UFC on ESPN+ 36. Spann (18-6) is the No. 12 ranked light heavyweight in the UFC. He saw his eight-fight win streak snapped in his last bout when he was knocked out by Johnny Walker. Prior to that, Spann was unbeaten in the Octagon with four wins in a row against Sam Alvey, Devin Clark, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and Luis Henrique. In his career, he has 15 wins by stoppage, including 11 wins by submission, making this stylistic matchup against Cirkunov highly intriguing. Prior to that, the “Dana White’s Contender Series” graduate picked up wins over the likes of Sam Alvey, Devin Clark, and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

Another fight added to the card is a women’s Flyweight bout that will see Sijara Eubanks face off against Pannie Kianzad. Eubanks is looking to get back in the win column after losing to Ketlen Vieira this past September, snapping her two-fight skid in the process. Kianzad, on the other hand, is looking to extend her win streak to three after taking out Bethe Correia and Jessica-Rose Clark in consecutive bouts.
