A new federation by the name Mixed Martial Arts Federation– ‘MMA 1 Federation’– has been launched under the chairmanship of Amin Pathan (Vice president of Rajasthan Cricket Association). The MMA 1 Federation will not only serve to regulate the upcoming Kumite 1 warrior hunt reality sow, but going forward they also plan to regulate other MMA events working as a full-fledged federation.
“Sport is an extremely important component for the overall development of our nation. Inspired by our PM Modi’s ‘Khelo India’ program, to take his vision further and to promote sports and fitness in the country, we want to encourage the sport of MMA which is within reach with students of every strata of our society, as we do not charge any fees for the training,” announced Mohamedali Budhwani, the President of MMA.
As regards the sustainability of providing free training to every athlete, the federation has managed to garner the support of companies like Toyam Industries Ltd, Kumite 1 League, Oneway Films Pvt Ltd, P&M (Pan-India legal firm), Think out Of the Box and Shaaz Media Entertainment to help the federation follow compliance, build the sport and athlete visibility, to meet its financial requirements.
Farhan Sheikh says MMA 1 Federation will benefit all the parties involved in the sport of MMA
The MMA India Show had the opportunity to chat with Mr Farhan Sheikh, who is the Federation’s National commissioner. He stated the MMA 1 Federation will be beneficial for all the parties involved in the promotion of the sport.
“Any Federation can’t be run without financial assistance, but almost all the Federations are doing stuff that are not beneficial for the Officials. I have been an official for other federations and I have seen that many federations are not paying the officials and there are many other issues. So we have come up with MMA 1 Federation. We haven’t made this federation to do any kind of business, this is purely for the welfare of the sport. For business, we have other avenues to make money,” Farhan said.
The registrations for the Kumite 1 warrior hunt are on and athletes can register here. As per Farhan, the shooting for the reality show will start at the end of June and will last a month and then the Season 1 of the show will release on MX Player.
