The second fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin went into the books last day. Unlike the first outing, this fight had a clear-cut winner as Canelo took home the win via a majority decision.

Canelo edged out GGG last day

The fight unravelled in front of a sell-out crowd of 21,965 at the T-Mobile Arena and was a close one from the start itself. In the end, two judges scored in favour of Canelo (115-113) while one judge went with a score of 114-114.

Canelo’s win unified the WBA and WBC championship and also gave Golovkin his first loss as a professional. Golovkin, however, was not happy with the controversial decision and stormed out without giving a post-fight interview.

Keeping aside all the controversies, it’s safe to say that the fight was a modern day classic. And the MMA community did not shy away from admitting this fact. Most of the fighters reacted to the Canelo – GGG fight on Twitter.

Matt Brown saw the grand scheme of things and tweeted out the following.

Meanwhile, Colby Covington took his usual controversial route.

Elsewhere, some questioned the decision of the judges while others appreciated the fight. You can see those reactions below.
