Welcome to the MMA India show’s weekly MMA round up. We take a look at the biggest stories of the past week, which includes big names like Jorge Masvidal, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Gilbert Burns etc.
After continuous fights for the last two-months, UFC took a one week break. The promotion moves to Yas Island for the entirety of the month of July. Yas Islands will host four UFC events in the month of July as part of its Fight Island series.
Former UFC fighter starts an OnlyFans account
Former UFC bantamweight Cindy Dandois from Belgium has created an OnlyFans account to weather the pandemic. The 35-year old lost her gym due to the COVID-19 outbreak and like many others, she has to resort to other means to make money. Cindy Dandois made the announcement on her social media account.
OnlyFans is an adult social media platform where the creators charge their subscribers a monthly fee to post anything from normal to X-rated content.

Conor McGregor targets WWE Championship
Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor took to Instagram and shared a picture with him holding the WWE and UFC title. He also tagged Stephanie McMahon, who is the Chief Brand Officer of the WWE.
Will we see Conor McGregor step in the world of Pro Wrestling? It remains to be seen, but he certainly wouldn’t be the first mainstream MMA star to transition into WWE.

Arianny Celeste announce pregnancy
UFC Octagon girl and heartthrob of many MMA fans, Arianny Celeste announced her pregnancy on Instagram.
Celeste is also the longest-serving Octagon girl in the organisation. She is having a baby with her boyfriend Taylor King.

Abdulmanap Numagomedov dies aged 57
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, father of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov passed away last Friday aged 57.
He died following complications caused by COVID-19. Abdulmanap suffered two strokes. He suffered from a heart attack and a brain stroke. The doctors managed to treat his heart but not his brain which ultimately led to him sliding into a coma.

Gilbert Burns pulls out of UFC 251 after testing positive for COVID-19
Gilbert Burns had to pull out of his scheduled fight against UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. He arrived from his gym in Florida to Las Vegas and ended up being tested positive for COVID-19.
Following this, he had to be pulled out of the card. Burns was coming off of a dominant win over Tyron Woodley last May. Prior to that, he finished Demian Maia.

Jorge Masvidal vs Kamaru Usman finalised for UFC 251
BMF belt holder Jorge Masvidal decided to step in on a six-day notice to save the UFC 251 card. He will be fighting UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman.
The pair were originally scheduled to fight each other, but following monetary negotiations between Masvidal and UFC, the fight fell off and Burns was the replacement fighter. However, both parties seemed to have negotiated and settled at the price.
Masvidal arrived in Las Vegas via a private jet from Florida. He cleared the COVID-19 test and is en route to Abu Dhabi. This will be Masvidal’s first title fight in the UFC.
