Yana Kunitskaya has taken to social media so as to announce the fact that she’s set to make her UFC debut next month.

Apparently, Kunitskaya will move up to the Featherweight Division to face Leah Letson in her very first UFC fight.

Yana Kunitskaya is a Russian MMA combatant with an extensive background in gymnastics as well as the more traditional martial arts such as Taekwondo.

Kunitskaya, a highly-regarded Women’s MMA prospect from Russia, had retired at the age of 23 after the birth of her first child, however, she returned to the sport after a 3-year hiatus.

Yana Kunitskaya has now posted a photograph of herself and American Mixed Martial Artist Leah Letson, with the following caption—

“So exited ? fight in new weight class in my #ufc debut vs Leah Leatson ?? 3 March Las Vegas #ufc222 @ufc @jacksonwink_mma #fightspirit #jacksonwinkmma”

Fans can watch Yana Kunitskaya compete against Leah “Nidas” Letson at UFC 222 which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada on March 3rd.

Yana Kunitskaya set to make UFC debut

Kunitskaya has been accorded a ton of praise by MMA pundits and fans alike for her striking skills. However, the Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion has fallen by way of submission on a couple of occasions in the recent past.

On the other hand, her UFC 222 opponent Leah Letson dropped her debut MMA bout by way of decision, but hasn’t lost since. In fact, despite Yana Kunitskaya being a sizeable favorite entering UFC 222, the belief is that Letson who was 4-0 as an amateur, may prove to be a tough test for the Russian striker.

Furthermore, Yana Kunitskaya is also touted by many as a fighter who’s being groomed to face reigning UFC Featherweight Champion and pound-for-pound WMMA great Cris Cyborg over the next couple of years.

Who do you pick at UFC 222—Yana Kunitskaya or Leah Letson?
