Mohammed Farhad who is one of the biggest names in Indian Mixed Martial Arts circuit extended his BRAVE CF contract as he signed a new deal with the Bahrainian promotion.
A knockout artist with an extensive striking background, Farhad holds a professional record of 11 wins and only three losses. All of his three wins under BRAVE Combat Federation’s banner came by way of knockout or technical knockout.
The last time “Sher-e-Hind” stepped into the BRAVE CF Arena, he beat Kushal Vyas via first-round TKO in his home country of India, back in November of 2019.
The promotion’s officials have not confirmed the date or event for Farhad’s next bout but the Indian superstar is expected to make his return before the end of 2020.
The MMA India Show reached out to Mohammed Farhad to talk about his new deal with BRAVE CF and also his recent management deal with MTK Global.
“The Plan is to fight at least once in 2020, training is all self man till now since a long time as all know due to pandemic, need to check how is training camps going on, minimum 6 weeks camp before the fight,” Farhad said.
“As soon as things get settled need to go Mumbai for my passport renewal and then I may take steps,” he said.
BRAVE CF has a tremendous track record of providing their fighters with top of the notch training regimen and helping them succeed. Most recently, UFC signed a BRAVE alumni Khamzat Chimaev, who has already put the entire welterweight division on notice. He fought twice in an interval of a week in Abu Dhabi and the UFC plans to arrange his third UFC appearance soon.
While Khamzat is without a doubt a terrific prospect, Farhad has stated that fans should give the Swede some more time before he can be considered a real deal.
“We should give Khamzat some more time to compete in UFC before giving thoughts, but he has definitely proved himself in UFC and all those past fights. Definitely he is a beast though,” Farhad said.
However, with UFC signing a former BRAVE fighter, Mohammed Farhad feels that BRAVE has established itself as legitimate promotion and is signing top tier fighters.
“On the other hand he [Khamzat Chimaev] being a Brave fight makes us all believe that Brave had provided steps for UFC fighters and to become a UFC fighter,” He said.
Mohammed Farhad on his deal with MTK Global
Apart from signing with BRAVE CF, he also signed with premier management company in MTK Global. The management company manages some of the biggest names in the world of combat sports and it includes names like Tyson Fury, Darren Till, Carl Frampton, Billy Joe Saunders etc.
“I signed with them because I really felt they are genuine, offers given from Muhammed Rizwan Ali seemed to be genuine, his suggestions too seemed good to me and not like just showing big dreams to fighters. Plus after signing the contract with MTK they did help me to get a great deal with Brave.” He said on how instrumental was MTK in helping him get the BRAVE deal done.
Farhad also made it clear that he also has his eyes set on the BRAVE’s bantamweight title, which is currently held by Stephen Loman.
“Stephen has proved him to be a smart fighter but if you have asked this then I must say that I had plans to do a championship fight and I have my eyes on Bantamweight title,” he concluded.
