Is Kamaru Usman battling UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley next? In the event that the opposite side of the bout agreement he posted via Twitter gets signed, he beyond any doubt will.

Usman (13-1 MMA, 9-0 UFC) has been campaigning for a title shot since he crushed ex-champ Rafael dos Anjos by decision at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale this previous month. UFC President Dana White said the execution could enable him to hop the line to battle Woodley (19-3-1 MMA, 9-2-1 UFC), and those remarks may prove to be fruitful.

The undeniable battle for the title at 170 pounds was believed to be Woodley versus Colby Covington (14-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC). White has communicated dissatisfaction in the two competitors generally, however, and it could all cumulate in Usman getting an open door at the lash.

Usman, No. 3 in the most recent USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA welterweight rankings, did not uncover the date or area of the proposed title matchup with Woodley, who said on Monday that he needs to battle in January, February or March.
