In a recent interview, Nate Diaz expressed his support for Conor McGregor’s decision to withdraw from the UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler due to injury. Despite their infamous UFC rivalry, Diaz believes Conor McGregor made the right move by prioritizing his health. The Irishman’s broken toe prompted the withdrawal, and Diaz emphasized the importance of being fully healthy before returning to the octagon.

Nate Diaz Supports Conor McGregor’s Decision

Nate Diaz opened up on Conor McGregor ”I think it was just a minor thing. I think they made a bigger deal out of it than it is. Good idea. If I get f*cked up, I would like to push the fight back too, but people f*cking freak out. I think I wouldn’t want to fight until I’m 100 percent ready to rock too, because in the past I’ve done all kinds of sh*t I shouldn’t have done.”

While critics may have questioned McGregor’s decision, Diaz sees it as a smart move. As both fighters continue their careers, fans may hope for a trilogy bout between Diaz and McGregor, but only time will tell.

Diaz, who is days away from sharing the boxing ring with Jorge Masvidal, may look to secure a third meeting with McGregor if all goes well in his rematch. Their rivalry last saw McGregor avenging a submission loss at UFC 196, and fans remain curious about a potential trilogy bout. However, Diaz wisely acknowledges that the future depends on various factors, including his own performance, McGregor’s contractual situation, and UFC’s decisions.

”It is tough, but we keep it dialed in. I was kind of looking forward to getting the fight wrapped up on June 29, having a nice celebration on my birthday, and then dialing back in for September or October… something like that.” Diaz stated.

As the MMA world awaits further developments, Diaz’s stance reflects a fighter’s perspective: prioritize health and return when fully prepared. McGregor’s withdrawal may have disappointed fans, but Diaz’s support underscores the importance of making informed decisions in the high-stakes world of professional fighting.
