UFC superstar Nate Diaz was rumored to fight lightweight contender Dustin Poirer in early 2022. Former two-time title challenger Dustin Poirier recently revealed that he has been assigned to fight the UFC superstar Nate Diaz in the early months of 2022. He revealed that the fight will be taking place next month which is the UFC 271 event in Houston Texas headlined by the middleweight championship rematch between the reigning champion Israel Adesanya and no.1 contender Robert Whittaker. But Nate Diaz has now addressed this fight and revealed that he has rejected to fight Dustin Poirier.

Dustin Poirier told “THE FIGHT! With Teddy Atlas” podcast this week that he’s agreed to fight Nate Diaz within the next six weeks time span. Poirier said now his team is waiting for the response from Nate Diaz and his team.

“No contract has been signed yet, but if this does go through I’m going to take it,” Poirier said. “This would be super short-notice. I already looked at myself in the mirror. I spoke to my wife (Jolie) and my boxing coach (Dyah Davis) – people I talk to regularly. I talked to my coach Mike Brown as well. They support me if I want to take this fight, but I have to look myself in the mirror and ask, ‘Do I want to take this fight.’ I did exactly that. I looked in the mirror and I just felt good.’”

Dustin Poirer affirmed that his next fight will be against Nate Diaz and he won’t be revealing any further details as Nate is yet to accept the fight.

“It is Nate Diaz,” Poirier said. “I’m not going to say a card. I’m not going to say what date. But he got on Twitter talking. This guy really fights and I’m a fan of him, but everybody’s a tough guy on the internet. He said something like, ‘Let’s do it.’ I said, ‘Yeah, sure. I’ll really fight you this month.’”

But before the MMA fans could get excited about the fight and start speculating the fight outcome, Nate Diaz revealed that he wants to fight Dustin but the UFC has some change of plans.

“I just talked to the ufc I said wassup with the Dp fight I wanna fight asap but they said Dustin sucks and they don’t want it sorry Dustin you suck hope to fight asap tho let’s do this Ps Olivera you suck too”
