UFC welterweight Nate Diaz has no enthusiasm for going into the main event clash at UFC 279 against Khamzat Chimaev and says he has even given up preparing for the bout that he didn’t call for.

I have been stuck in the cage for a long time and I got to do what I got to do to get the f**k out: Nate Diaz

Diaz has one fight left on his current UFC contract and will be fighting out of it when he takes on Chimaev this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena, a fight which many have termed as an “unfair” and “mismatch” contest, including Daniel Cormier.

The Stockton star has had only two fights in the last three years and for the longest of time wanted to exhaust his contract, but the promotion wasn’t granting him what he wanted. Instead, Diaz was paired against the up-and-rising 170-pounder ‘Borz’, a fight which Diaz says he did not want and still doesn’t want.

“I’m the champion of all the UFC, put together, I don’t give a f*ck,” Diaz told ESPN in a recent interview, “What they got me doing right now is acting like I called for this fight, which I didn’t call for, and I don’t want, didn’t want and still don’t want but I don’t give a f*ck.”

“I’ll fight anybody. Pressure is on him, he better finish me. He’s the new killer in town, you know what I’m saying? Pressure is on me because I better not get finished by the new killer in town. They’re saying he’s the best in town, if I whoop his a*s, they’re going to say oh, he’s not the best in town.”

At the UFC 279 media day, Diaz revealed that he’s least enthusiastic about the Chimaev clash. “Yeah, for sure, so I just gave up on preparing. Whatever. Beat me,” the 37-year-old added.

“I think that I have been stuck in the cage for a long time and I got to do what I got to do to get the f**k out,” Diaz continued, “Whether it’s fighting the toughest guy or whatever you wanna make of him or call him, or anybody. I’m just ready to rock and roll.” [H/T BJPenn.com]
