UFC 230 co-main event fighters, top ranked lightweight contender Dustin Poirier and popular MMA fighter Nate Diaz have been demanding to officially be made the main-event of the evening and be given a shot for a new 165 pounds title. The UFC management and the UFC President Dana White have been denying and out-right refusing the idea of a new 165 pounds division being created and have also stated that they will find a headliner for the UFC 230 card soon. Diaz in particular has been gunning too much for the division. The younger Diaz has now posted a picture of himself on Twitter and has sent a cryptic warning to all other potential 165 pounds fighters in the UFC and has asked them not to be scared.
Noted MMA and combat sports journalist Luke Thomas of MMA Fighting had recently opined that by openly advocating for a 165 pounds division, Diaz and his opponent Poirier are trying to force the UFC’s hand into creating such a division.
Diaz recently took to Twitter and asked all other potential 165 pound fighters to not be scared about asking for the creation of a new division as well as to not be scared about fighting him. Below is the tweet posted by Diaz:
