There have been many in the UFC roster who have tasted Nate Diaz‘s “Stockton slap” and the latest name in the list of recipients is a reporter, who was smacked up by Diaz backstage at UFC 276 this weekend.
You better watch your tweets: Nate Diaz warns Shawny Mack
During his years in the Octagon, Nate Diaz has become well known for being stout against something he dislikes, whether that be verbal or physical, and reporter Shawny Mack got exactly the taste of that.
Shawny Mack, an MMA reporter of The Nelk Boys, approached Diaz backstage at UFC 276. Right at the start, Diaz opened up that he’s not very fond of the social media posts Mack was making, “You better watch your tweets”.
After Mack responded “Oh, I know”, acknowledging what the fighter was referring to, Diaz proceeded to smack the mic out of his hand, followed by giving him a light taste of his palm.

As soon as the clip went viral on social media, MMA Writer Alex Behunin reported that the incident was not an act.

It is understood that Diaz was irated at one recently Instagram post made by Mack on his teammate Nick Maximov. Diaz said in an interview that if rising welterweight star Khamzat Chimaev wants a real challenge he should face Maximov.
Mack posted an edited video of the interview on his Instagram, along with the text, “Watch Nate Diaz throw his teammate into a scrap with Khamzat Chimaev”.
As far as Nate’s UFC career goes, the former Lightweight and “BMF” title contender has none but one fight remaining on his current contract and recently accused promotion of neglecting him repeatedly and called for a release so can look for challenges elsewhere, with a hint at facing Jake Paul in a boxing match. UFC prez Dana White, in turn, said that it is better for Diaz to make a switch to boxing as he has not been finding success in the Octagon anyway.
