Popular UFC fighter Nate Diaz truly shot to mainstream international fam after his heated rivalry and two fight wars with superstar Conor McGregor. There have long been rumours and plenty of hearsay about a potential third fight, a rubber match between the duo. However, Diaz, for now, has seemingly shot down the idea and he is undecided about his future fights after UFC 244.
Diaz told MMA Junkie in a recent sitdown interview that he is solely focused on fighting Jorge Masvidal for the BMF belt right now and is not planning any future fights yet. Here’s what he had to say:
Whatever is going to happen in the future is going to happen in the future. Whatever is going to happen in the future is going to happen in the future, They play me like I was sitting there waiting for that fight forever, but I wasn’t. I would have liked it immediately. But when it wasn’t immediate, I was like, ‘What? Am I going to chase you around?’ I don’t give a (expletive). If he wanted it and we were going to fight, then we were going to fight. But if it’s going to happen, it’s going to play out like it’s going to play out.
I don’t know what’s next, man, I’m going to do what I’m going to do. We’ll see what’s going to happen in the future. Like I said before, when the stars line up. I don’t know what’s next. I’m going to try to make this fight happen the way it’s supposed to happen, and we’ll go from there.
