One of the highly anticipated rematches in the history of the sports between Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler is taking place at UFC 266. The fight was previously set to take place in the welterweight division but now according to the reports the fight might take place in the middleweight division. Reportedly Nick Diaz and his camp want the fight to take place in the middleweight division. Ariel Helewani reported that the fight has been reorganized at 185-pounds. “A specific reason for the late change wasn’t revealed. The fight will remain a five-round non-title fight, per sources,” Helwani writes. “Both fighters have a history of fighting at 170 and 185, and both have expressed a desire to cut less weight these days.”
UFC President Dana White also confirmed the news later but stated that he is still waiting for Robbie Lawler to agree to fight at 185. The UFC 266 card is going to be headlined by the current featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski facing the former title challenger Brian Ortega. A UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship fight between current champion Valentina Shevchenko and former Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion Lauren Murphy will be the co-main event of the night. UFC 266 will take place on September 25, 2021, at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Las Vegas Nevada.
The fight between Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler is going to be the second non-main event and the non-title bout has been scheduled for five rounds. The pair previously met at UFC 47 where Diaz won the fight via KO in the second round. Now after going to absolutely different paths since their first fight the duo is set to face again.

In the recent countdown video of UFC 266, Nick stated that he has become a far better fighter than he was when he fought Robbie Lawler for the first time. Nick also said that he going to be professional after the fight and is not going out there to call out names.
“I’m actually way more of a dangerous fighter than I was when I fought Robbie Lawler the first time,” Diaz said on the UFC 266 Countdown show. “I’m not going out there to call him names, I’m going to be a lot more sportsmanlike out there, but that’s not what won me the fight, that surprised him a little bit but I would’ve won the fight anyway. I’m going to be unstoppable having made the right decisions, I’m going to beat Robbie again.”
