UFC superstar Nick Diaz might be returning to the octagon sooner than we expected him to as his long-time coach has revealed that Nick Diaz will be fighting by the end of this year. Many fans thought that the UFC BMF Nick Diaz might not return to the octagon anytime soon or maybe he won’t fight ever again in the UFC after his last devastating performance against Robbie Lawler. Nick Diaz returned to the UFC after a six-year-long layoff and fought against Robbie Lawler on September 25, 2021, at UFC 266. The fight wasn’t his best performance as stated by his fans who were disappointed in seeing him fight as he entered the octagon in his worst shape. He was dominated by Robbie in all aspects of the game and Robbie Lawler won the fight via referee stoppage in round three.

After watching the sloppy return of Nick against Robbie Lawler at UFC 266, UFC President Dana White said that Nick should consider retiring from the sport.

“I was very impressed with his comeback in September. I had conversations with Robbie Lawler [who beat Diaz] and he had nothing but respect for him and how he fought,” White said in an interview with ESPN. “But regardless of how good Diaz looked, what he did after such a huge layoff, I don’t think Nick should fight. He’s a grown man, he can do whatever he wants. But I just don’t think Nick does this because he loves it. He does it because he has to do it. People always ask me what’s the key to success. It’s all about being happy and doing what you love.”

Dana White doesn't think Nick Diaz should continue fighting

“When I talk to people who sit in bumper-to-bumper traffic for a job they hate, that’s what I feel like with Nick Diaz. When he’s getting ready to fight, he’s in bumper-to-bumper traffic. It’s actually fascinating. But yeah, for a guy who had been off as long as he had been, nothing but respect for Nick,” Dana White added. [H/T BJPenn.com]

Though Dana White has stated that he wants Nick to stop fighting if Nick wants to come back Dana might allow him to fight considering the stardom Nick Diaz has. Nick and Nate are two of the biggest superstars of the game regardless of what their fighting record says.
